The Scottish Deerhound makes unusual vocal noises. Scottish Deerhounds are sight hounds bred for coursing red deer. A Scottish Deerhound is really a Greyhound with a wiry coat. The Scottish Deerhound was once known as the Royal Dog of Scotland. Sadly, during World War II, many owners destroyed their Deerhounds because of food shortages.
